I do not like waking in the dark
It makes me grumble and bark.
My waking energy it does not spark
Sleepiness leaves it groggy mark.
Time may be enjoying this lark
But I prefer light for each day’s embark.
Obviously, I am not enjoying the time change. Now the darkness wanes at 7:23, after I am off to work. Last week, it was 6:23 and as I opened my eyes to the begin my day. That daylight added pep to my day. So now I wait until it can happen again…..

Ah, it has been not only DARK but also overcast and snowing today! I skipped the walk both days – I am not proud of that – and still left in the dark! Ugh…

I am in total accord with your feelings. Today it is actually sunny and I think we will not fall back later this year so I hope I can just get adjusted. Love the rhythm and rhyme of your poem!

I so agree with you on this. Plus I don’t really like it being light at 10:00 at night in the summer either. Love your choice of -ark words!
