Is This a Message from You, Mom?-SOLC Day 24

Sign or coincidence?

Mom, are you near?

Is that sticker message meant for me- “The best is yet to be”?

Is it a gift for me on your birthday?

Is it your voice reaching me, giving me hope in these uncertain times?

Have you become my guardian angel?

Does a mother’s heavenly heart still feel deeply the ups and downs of her child’s days?

Did you intentionally put that sticker in my view?

Is that sticker message meant for me- “The best is yet to be.”?

Mom, are you near?

Sign or coincidence?

On Saturday, I was at a fundraiser looking at the scattering of snacks across the table. Interspersed with the trail mix pouches, were various stickers. One caught my eye and stopped me in my tracks. It said, “the best is yet to be”. Oh, tears welled in my eyes and my heart thumped a bit louder. The saying “Grow old along with me, the best was yet to be” was special to both of my parents. A plaque hung in our kitchen stating just that and I honestly don’t remember our kitchen without it. Well, these words on THIS day – my mom’s birthday- made me stop. I acknowledged the presence of her love and wished her a happy heavenly birthday.

Sign or coincidence? I am on the side of sign because love continues beyond death. You can decide for yourself.

The plaque from my parents’ house.

  1. How beautiful that you saw those words on your mother’s birthday. I’m sure she’s always with you. I love the way you structured this post, with those questions first. I loved reading this.

  2. Whether or not they’re real signs, I hold the “signs from” my dad close to my heart, and appreciate them. It sounds like a special thing to find that message on your mom’s birthday. The list of questions is a great way to pull readers into wanting to hear the extra information about the sticker that you finally reveal.
