Pops of yellow blooms
quietly taunt Spring’s near
through brown, brittle leaves
Oh, surprise-bees are back too
Is this more than just a tease?

Today was a 65 degree day with full sun! It has been months since seeing a temperature like this. The sun was radiant in the popping blue sky. So lovely!
Arriving home from school, I looked out my back window and saw waves of yellow in the back corner of my yard. I ran outside to check. Yes, yes it was the yellow winter aconite in bloom. These flowers were not showing their colors yesterday. The warmth of today must of have made them pop open to announce Spring is getting close. These are one of the first flowers I see each Spring as the snow finally melts away.
What was difference about this year was bees- yes bees- were flitting from flower to flower. It seems early to see them buzzing about. I was happy to see these pollinators and applaud their early arrival. Maybe it means Spring is truly ready to arrive this year…. only time will tell. Fingers crossed for no more snow!

I love this post. Bees and butterflies are the messengers of hope, I think. And it makes me delighted that you accepted the hope they brought you, and shared it with all of us.
Thank you.

I can’t wait to hear bumblebees buzzing around again. I love the line “Pops of yellow blooms quietly taunt Spring’s near.” My crocuses are doing the same thing.

I haven’t seen any blooms yet, but the weather right now is gorgeous. I must get out and walk. Love the poem and the photos! Very uplifting post!

Pretty sure I saw a bat flying about tonight which means there must be insects out and about as well. We’re about 20 degrees above normal yesterday and today. I wonder if there’s one more snowfall around the bend somewhere.

We were 65 yesterday and 30 today. 50 tomorrow. I’m sure there will be at least 1 more snow.
