The last few days, I have been awakened by birdsong again! It is an absolutely lovely alarm clock. It brings a smile to my face as I awaken my senses to the day. It is such a treat to reenter consciousness in this joyful way.
This is such a change from the absolute silent mornings through all of January and the majority of February. I don’t blame the birds for not singing when the temperature barely rose above 20 for a high each day. I would stay tucked away somewhere warm too. (Actually, I did huddle inside more than I usual do.)
I wonder what has triggered their return to praising the beginning of the day.
Is it that morning temperatures have been more Spring-like- high 30s to 40s?
Is it because daylight arrives between 6:30-7:00?
Do they have an internal clock to tell them that Spring is only a few weeks away and they are getting ready to celebrate its arrival?
Or it could be something else I would never even think about.
All I know is that I have loved the warmer morning temperatures and the increasing daylight too. The birds are expressing my happiness to the world as well in their morning songs. I hope they will continue to sing each day even after the time change next weekend. Fingers crossed.

Maybe they are simply reminding us that spring is on its way!

I also love and miss bird songs. This is a really beautiful sentence: “The birds are expressing my happiness to the world as well in their morning songs.”

I noticed the birds singing this weekend, too. What a lovely sound to start the day.

It is so nice being snuggled under the covers while listening to the birds making their plans for the day.

I love the idea of birds “praising the beginning of the day.” I have noticed the birds and the morning light in the last two weeks. It is so welcoming!
