This is the tale of my day at school so far. I was in a kindergarten class co-teaching a math lesson. The students were going to be using their ipads for the first time. They were so excited! The students signed in with their QR codes but the app we needed wasn’t there! We had checked before while testing out the lesson. Who knew what happened? Not me for sure. I guess the tech gremlins worked their magic.

The kindergarteners handled it really well. We told them we would try it again another day. They were much more flexible in their thinking than I was. I was frustrated! Yes, tech can have issues but the larger part was that I was embarrassed it didn’t work since I was visiting the room to support this lesson. Ugg!

I needed to get to the other side of the school quickly so I decided to take the shorter way which brought me outside. Feeling the sun on my face immediately brought a smile. Then a few deep breaths of fresh air released the pent up flustered energy inside my soul. The blue sky caught my attention with its pureness today, not a speck of cloud in sight. The rushed rhythm of my feet made me slow to a stroll to take in nature’s precious reset for a few breaths longer.

By the time I reached the other door, I was smiling and the positivity that started the day had been refilled. I walked into the next kindergarten class and was ready for joyful learning to begin. (Oh yes- the app was there for them and the lesson went well!)
