The clouds came down to earth this morn
cuddling the world
in a mystical muted
embrace of the heavens.
For me, there is something special about awakening to a morning visited by fog. There is a hushness, a softness, to this beginning of day. It seems magical to me that I am surrounded by a gray mistiness that is usually only heaven bound. I know it will fade away to reveal the trueness of day but for now I will savor the mystical embrace outside my windows.

Where was this gorgeous photo taken? Your words truly celebrate the magic of fog. I love the line “cuddling the world.” I love to see and be in fog, except when I am behind the wheel of a car. Thank you for this slice!

I wish I took that gorgeous picture. I often use my own photography in post. However, this one just came from Pexels Free Photos in WordPress. I couldn’t capture the fog well this morning and this photo gave the vibe I was looking for.

I love the line “cuddled the world” and the alliteration in “mystical muted.” What sight in the morning.

Beautiful words! I also woke to a world immersed in fog, but my words did not capture it with the elegance of your Slice!

“Mystical muted embrace” captures how I feel about foggy mornings too. Thanks for sharing.

We are true soul mates in many ways, Cathy. My ideal morning involves fog! The difference for me, though, would be the addition of a foghorn.
