Gloomy, monotonous blanket of gray dissolves its COVER
lightness and brightness bubble within ME
triggered by the return of glowing energy IN
our days- oh glorious SUNSHINE!
51 days of gray! That was the statistic shared by our local weatherman the other day. I guess that would be the reason that so many of us in the area were feeling blah, zapped and possibly depressed.
BUT the SUN CAME OUT!! Oh it was a glorious Saturday as the gray morning cloudiness dissolved into a pristine cerulean sky with the sun just glowing. What an immediate impact it had on my being! I felt peppier, lighter, happier and it had only just appeared in the sky.
So many people were out walking, even though it was still only 30. We all wanted to soak in the sun’s presence. Strangers greeted strangers as they passed on the trail with smiles saying “Isn’t this a beautiful day!” and “Just had to get out and enjoy!”.
The good news is that the sun is expected to shine for 8 days in a row. We are all ecstatic! Fingers crossed that it will continue even longer… oh how glorious you are, sun.

The sight & warmth of sunshine is such a treasure during the winter. Sometimes it can be deceptive and make you think it’s warm outside when in reality it’s only 20 degrees. STILL it’s so uplifting and I feel like we get a taste of what flowers & trees feel like when the sun hits them. We perk up, stretch, and grow on these days.

I love your comparison to flowers and trees. Never thought of it that way.😊

Oh, Cathy, 51 days sounds like it must be some kind of record! A golden shovel poem seems perfect for your golden glorious sunshiney day. I’m glad the first one fell on a Saturday for you and all the others who needed it.

I love your attunement to the natural world. I’m a sunshine-needy girl, especially in February!
