Dare to find JOY.
Notice small GIFTFUL pleasures.
Amass the GRACE of simple moments.
Dare to find joy-
TODAY!
The other morning was not filled with energy. I was in a funk with no positive vibes. Then, while scrolling through my Facebook feed, I read a post that ended with these words- “And today, dare to find joy.” Well, that instantly changed my outlook on the day and I wanted to meet that dare. So I began looking, here is a list poem of my found joys…
Sunshine dancing over my skin,
Texting bubbles of blue and gray popping up in conversing with a dear friend
Hugging my daughter close,
Chocolately sweetness filling my mouth with each bite of a delectable cookie,
Cheerful cards filled with well wishes
Being able to freely move my arm again pain-free
Words flowing across the page in a creative wave
Never thought I would be thankful for social media but it definitely impacted me in a powerful, positive way today. Thank you for the Facebook page, Finding Joy, for this post. This is the website of Rachel who posted on Facebook. She is a motivational speaker. https://findingjoy.net/?fbclid=IwAR0gbHpOvaTDdggC87AjZAqUTrWJ10GppzxpmxTkQibMPGh4cGy6QeujQDM
Now dare to find your joy today!

Dear cmhutter:
I cannot tell you how much I’ve enjoyed this post! Today was the first day I’ve blogged again since March. I shared something that was very emotional for me (more than what I imagined) and found myself stepping away for quite some time to process.
Nevertheless, as a lover of all things writing, I deeply missed the treasures of composing, reading, and sharing that so meaningfully intertwine in this space. The beauty in your post made my skin tingle! Your cadence, content and motifs are so compelling. I’ve read it more than once with an appreciation for how imagery rich it is!
Thank you kindly for sharing this insight. I will hold it close as its poignancy is far reaching. What a wonderful reminder of what I’ve been missing. It is “giftful” indeed!
With Warmest Regards,
~Dr. Carla Michelle

I’ll take that dare, and I love the sensoriness (I know that’s not a word, but you know what I mean!) of your list. Especially glad that you’re pain free.

Your post is a good one for me coming off a yucky gastrointestinal event! I too found some joy in the SOL today and your post is a great reminder!

Unfortunately, today was a day that I was more in the mood to dare joy to find me. Sometimes it’s hard to be open to joy when everything in your being is resisting. I admire your turn around! Maybe I need a cookie.:)

Cathy, this is beautiful. I’m so glad you found joy in this day of which you write. I love the phrase you focused on, but also to be aware of “GIFTFUL pleasures” and “amass the GRACE” really speak to me. I love your lists of joys! It reminds me of my gratitude journal I was keeping, but stopped sometime during the last year. I was writing five things I was grateful for each day. I’m going to have to dig that out and start it again to “dare to find joy.” Thanks!
