So last night I tried something new- axe throwing. It was a fun time for sure but it gave me an unexpected feeling as well- powerfulness! I felt so powerful as I stood before the full size wall target with my feet shoulder-width apart. My arms were raised with locked elbows right in front of me with the axe standing perfectly perpendicular and my inner warrior woman rose to the surface. I looked intently at the target envisioning where I wanted the axe to land. With a deep breath, I raised both arms over my head. As I exhaled, my arms forcefully descended, I took a step forward with my left foot and launched the axe. THUNK! The sound of the axe sticking into the wall was so satisfying. Yes, I did that! But the THUNK as the axe split the bullseye was superior! My warrior woman persona swaggered up to the bell and rang it loudly for all to hear- “Yes, I got a bullseye! Take a look!” It was a celebration of success. Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

I love all of this post–how you describe the ax throwing bit by bit. This line stood out to me as a favorite: “My warrior woman persona swaggered up to the bell and rang it loudly for all to hear- “Yes, I got a bullseye! Take a look!”” Loved reading about your inner warrior woman coming out!
