Having green on my mind, I decided to use my Paint Chip Poetry game and pull out all of the green shades. There were 50 shades of green from pale pastel with the name Baby Sweater to a vibrant one called Garden of Eden .
My initial idea was to use all the shades in one poem but that was a bit stupifying. So I decided to use the game prompts and responded just using the names of the paint. I did use all 50.
Prompt: This is how it will all end
Garden of Eden
green flash
green with envy
bramble
fig leaf
swamp
Prompt: Once Upon a Time
Breezy
open meadow
Jack and the Beanstalk

Prompt: One of these things in not like the other

prickly pear
sagebrush

four-leaf clover
mistletoe
pine
evergreen
arboretum
chalkboard
Prompt: There’s no place like home

Prompt: From best to worst

left field
lazy lizard
grass stain
Prompt: Pilgrimage

Now I may have to buy this game. Just having those color chips to prompt my writing would be worth it. I like how you created so much with today’s color.

Thank you. It is a fun game to play with others too. I always like seeing the different ways people respond to the same prompt.

Oooo! I love these prompts.
I once sat in a professional development meeting and was dared to write a poem before the session was over with all these words associated with green that the table scratched on a random piece of paper! It was such fun! I wish I knew where that poem was!
I will save this post and write to it later! Thank you!

What a wonderful treasure of poetry today. I love so many of these and had to laugh out loud about your last poem on aging. Those words really reflect the ugly side of aging. I think my favorites are “There’s No Place Like Home” and “I Wish” as both are compelling and provocative!

What a great idea.. My favorite is the I’m Grateful poem. Especially the green light when I am running late.

I never thought to bring out my writing games for a slice. I love how you used all 5o shades of green. I liked the No Place Like Home poem. I reminds me of time gone by.
