Embracing Playfulness: Unlocking Joy- SOLC Day 23

I was at a fundraising event on Saturday morning. In one corner, there was a face painting station all set up. The colorful palette of paints as well as the small gold, silver, and pink glittery containers caught my eye as I walked by. There were not many children at this event and as I kept my eye on the face painting station, I noticed it was not getting much business. I went over to ask if adults could get their faces painted and share in the fun. Yes, I could, so I did. I had a rainbow with glittery clouds painted on my cheek. Seeing it in the mirror, made me smile. It added a joyous bounce to my step as I walked away to play in my next pickleball game.

What was even better was later in the day I saw one adult with her full face painted like a tiger and other adults with stars, daisies and hearts on their cheeks. It was fun to be so playful again!

  1. Your slice made me smile. It is wonderful to engage in activities that seem to be meant for children only. One of my favorite places at our botanical garden is the children’s area. I spend most of my time there.
