My brain across the screen
through letters, colors and images
revealed to all the world.
Will it be bullets, paragraphs or poetry?
Today which form best captures
my brain across the screen.
My inner world turns physical
inviting readers to try on my reality
through letters, colors and images.
Anxiety swirls with exhilaration — pressing publish
hoping others are gentle with the self
revealed to all the world.
Cascade Poem inspired by a comment during a PD ” A journal is a student’s brain on paper.”

I had to write that PD comment down in my notebook so I won’t forget it–wow! I love how you’ve taken the quotation and developed it into a poem that captures the ways that our words (on the page or the screen) show our selves to the world and also reminds us of the vulnerability of writing and sharing.

Thank you for introducing me to a new form. I have never written a cascade poem. I love the poem and the quote that inspired it.
