I was reading the book Rooted:Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature and Spirit by Lyanda Lynn Haupt when these words just hit me and made me pause.
” It is totally 100 percent true: nearly all elements in the human body were made in a star and many have come through several supernovas”- (Dr. Ashely King)
“Oxygen + carbon + hydrogen + nitrogen + calcium + phosphorous + potassium + sulfur + sodium + chlorine + magnesium = star-human
The stuff of the cosmos is woven into our bone branches and wanders in our blood rivers.” (pg. 190)
Star-human- am I that? Am I really made of the same elements that make stars brighten the night sky-WOW!
I think we forget how miraculous we are as humans. Our bodies do amazing things each and every day, every minute and every second. Remembering that we are made of star elements highlights how extraordinary we are. The components of the universe pulse through our bodies like the light of stars pulse through the darkness. We have that beautiful light inside of us just waiting for us to share it with the world.
Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of admiring the night sky in Maine. The amount of stars glittering the sky was just jaw-dropping, from tiny pinpricks to brilliant balls of brightness. It felt magical as well as overpowering. I sat in silence just staring, observing and being in the presence of this awesomeness. It was calming and mesmerizing. Maybe the calmness came from the connection of the stars to my inner elements. We are all related. Maybe I recognized myself in them… I am really a star-human.
